In amongst the various events planned for the last day of the Edinburgh Festival of Cycling tomorrow (Sunday 23 June) are several organised bike rides along traffic-free routes.
The Greener Leith ride heads to Portobello from Victoria Park, leaving at 10am, via the path through Leith Links and then onwards to Portobello Prom. There’s more information on the Greener Leith website.
To see a different part of the coast, the Laid Back Sunday Tour leaves from 28 Marchmont Crescent at 10am, heading down to Silverknowes via the Roesburn Path. At 12pm at Silverknowes there will be lunch and the chance to try out a variety of different types of bikes – tandems, trikes or “ligfiets”. http://laid-back-bikes.co.uk/
From the Meadows, there is a local Skyride heading to Balerno and for the less ambitious a “Meadows Meander”. To find out more and to guarantee a place, check out www.goskyride.com/edinburgh
