It is Bike Week (18 ÔÇô 26 June) and along with a fully packed week comes the Spokes Bike Breakfast (Wednesday 22nd June, 8-10am, Edinburgh City Chambers).
Every year the City of Edinburgh Council offers a free brekky for cyclists. On top of that Spokes also organises some stalls that provide you with cycle-related information. You can get a Spokes bike map or get your chain cleaned before heading to work.
The breakfast is ready from 8 am and apart from big range of stalls there will be councillors around and police bike security coding. The Transport Convenor Cllr Gordon Mackenzie is expected to give a short speech around 8.45am.
The bike breakfast is a great chance to approach some politicians and have a chat with them. I hope many people will make it to the City Chambers on Wednesday. I will be there and enjoy the luxury of not having to prepare breakfast for one morning. Surely it will be a very different start into my day and I am looking forward to it already.
