Hawthornvale path clean up – 3rd May, 11am

Join in an effort to clean up a section of Hawthornvale Cycle path on Sunday 3rd May. 

Organised by Jaimie MacDonal and Sheila Masson, they are both keen to creatively improve local greenspaces for the health and happiness of the community and to add to the great work that is already done along the cycle paths by Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust,  The Innertube map, Sustrans and Edinburgh Council. 

They are organising this under the banner of of the nationwide Clean Up Scotland campaign, which is run by the independent environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful.   This clean up will also be contributing to the Conserve challenge of Jaimie’sJohn Muir Discovery Award. She will spend time over the next 5 months nurturing her inner explorer by paying closer attention to the woodland that edges the cycle path in this area. While exploring she hope tos learn more about the habitats, flora and fauna that can be found here, as well as taking the oppoturnity to share what she discovers.   

Event details:  Sunday 3rd May- starts 11am 

Meeting point - Hawthornvale cycle path where the path joins with Lindsay Road 

What to bring – there will clean-up kits from the Council but please wear sturdy footwear, appropriate clothing and bring sturdy gloves .
